Formerly known as Broadcast RF, the UK division of EMG Connectivity has one operational goal, the provision of high-quality state of the art RF camera and microwave link technology to be used in the making of television programmes covering sports, news, and light entertainment events.

Formed in 1998, we have proved over the years that our commitment and dedication to our clients is key to our growth and supply of successful RF camera facilities on a global scale.  Our equipment is tailored to the specific task and needs of our clients, with vast experience in delivering large scale engineered projects.   We pride ourselves on our client support, from initial contact to final delivery. The quality of equipment and the attention we apply to each client’s requirements has fostered an ever-growing list of loyal customers.

MEET OUR TEAM

EMG Connectivity UK is the combination of an international team of more than 35 EMG experts.

Mark Houghton is the UK Managing Director, with Chris Brandrick (Commercial Director) and Martin Brosthaus (Technical Director) also part of the senior leadership team.

Mark Houghton

Mark has been with Broadcast RF since the company’s inception in 1998 and has since played a pivotal role in running the company for 25 years.  He has recently taken on an additional role of Group Innovations while successfully maintaining his position as the Managing Director of the UK division.

With extensive expertise in RF equipment and a keen understanding of emerging technologies, Mark is instrumental in driving the group’s investments in cutting-edge technology and equipment. Continuously striving for improvement, he actively seeks opportunities to enhance our current workflows and systems while keeping a keen eye on future developments.

Chris Brandrick
UK Commercial Director

Chris has been working in the broadcast industry for 20 years and has vast experience in delivering RF facilities for high profile events, from major domestic events to worldwide set pieces such as the UEFA Euros, FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games.

With extensive experience and a keen understanding of the industry’s ever-evolving landscape, Chris takes great pride in delivering broadcast projects successfully.

In 2023, Chris took the role of Group Commercial Director, overseeing global commercial operations, using his international experience and partnership-building skills to drive EMG Connectivity’s global leadership position.

Martin Brosthaus
UK Technical Director

Martin started his career in the broadcast industry in Germany, focussing on outside broadcast and wireless camera applications after completing his media engineering degree.

In 2010 Martin moved to the UK to join Broadcast RF, starting in technical sales and project management before becoming Technical Director in 2017.

As a project manager Martin is regularly involved in international high-profile events, both for detailed technical pre-planning and on-site delivery.

At EMG Connectivity UK, Martin leads the in-house development team and is always looking for new technologies and innovative solutions to make every project a success.

Georgina Swift
UK Head of Operations

George started her career with Broadcast RF back in 2007 as an Office Junior focusing mainly on crewing and kit logistics. Over the years George developed a great understanding of the business as a whole, which lead to her successful progression throughout the company. Gaining confidence and experience as the years went on has seen George take on many responsibilities including managing the day to day running of all aspects of our Hire Desk and being heavily involved with our bigger projects.

Now fulfilling the role as our UK Head of Operations, George not only plays a key role within EMG Connectivity UK, but also deals closely with our colleagues across the group to make sure all events whether big or small are delivered successfully.

James Halliday
UK Head of Projects

James is a seasoned professional in the television broadcasting industry. His career began in 1998 as a specialist camera engineer, later developing into RF technology.

James has covered events worldwide, using his adaptability and expertise to manage complex projects across diverse environments. Some notable examples are the America’s Cup Sailing, Ryder Cup, Euro Championships and the Olympic Games.

In 2018, he transitioned to Broadcast RF as a project manager before becoming Head of Projects for the EMG Connectivity UK division. His skills have been instrumental in delivering RF facilities for major global sporting events, including the British Open and FIFA World Cup.
